Mom's Ministry

Celia sent out this correspondence on April 17, 2007, and then forwarded it to me, along with this personal message:

“Well, here’s the start of it…let’s just pray that it grows like wildfire and that you are overwhelmed by the Lord’s blessings….I love you so much Momma and am so proud of you!”

I had told her about my "bracelet-making process" a few days earlier, not knowing that she would use it to further my 'ministry' by sharing it with her friends.  The Lord HAS truly blessed me, and I am so thankful that He holds us all      IN HIS HANDS.          --Pam

Celia's Letter

“Your speech should always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person.”  Colossians 4:6  HCSB

Good Morning!

I don’t want to take up too much of your time, but I would like to share something with you.  Some of you have heard me talk about the constant health problems my mother has had since my family was involved in a head-on collision 20 years ago.  She had just removed her seat belt to hand my brother something in the back seat and there was no time to put it back on before impact.  She was thrown into the windshield and suffered major trauma to her head and body.  My entire family was in the hospital for at least a week.  That accident led to numerous surgeries and eventually she was bed-ridden during my high school years.  Obviously she did not plan to go from being a vibrant young woman that carted around her children to someone who barely leaves her home because she cannot drive.  She has struggled with what she is supposed to learn from this experience, and she has become a rock of stability as I watch her grow in the Lord.

As you can imagine, our accident created a mountain of medical bills and my family still struggles to be released from that burden.  She has been praying for the Lord to show her how to help the family financially but no ideas were sparked.  A few weeks ago my aunt came into town and happened to bring beads with her.  She taught my mom how to make a bracelet and it has been a flurry of activity since that time.  I have not seen my mom so excited in several years and it’s been a blessing to see the Lord work through our family to get her ministry started.  I say ministry because this is something that bore out of her love and constant faithfulness to the Lord, even in the midst of seemingly unending struggles.

I cannot tell you how excited I am to share her ministry with you because you are all people I hold in high regard and those I know who will lift my family up in prayer as we continue this journey.  She is still in the beginning stages of this ministry, but my uncle is in the process of creating a logo and I hope to show that to you in the coming weeks.  We are calling these bracelets Pam’s Power Bracelets and using the verse 1 Chronicles 29:12 - “and in Thine hand is power and might….”  KJV

Please read my mom’s comment below as to her bracelet-making process.  It just fills me with joy and pride to see how she prepares to be used:

“Did I ever tell you how I psych myself up to make bracelets?  I first get dressed like I’m going somewhere; then I buff my nails and give them a mini-manicure; then I put on my rings and one of the bracelets to match what I’m wearing; then I pray for God to bless me and show me the type of bead and the colors He wants in the bracelet; and then I start praying for the person who’s going to receive it—either as a gift or as a purchase….if I know who’s going to get the bracelet, I pray for them specifically; otherwise, it’s a general prayer for their well-being, answers to their prayers, etc…..when the bracelet is finished,  I put a drop of clear nail polish on the knot to strengthen it, and I lay it aside to dry….then I take a picture of the bracelet to put on the computer for my “file”; and then I put it in my bracelet basket for viewing ( if anyone comes and wants to see what new bracelets I’ve made since they were here last )…..and it makes it seem like a “real” job, somehow!”

I share this with you because I know how incredible my mom is, and I want others to know about her and pray for her.  Please forward this on to any ladies that might be interested.  Thank you for taking time to read this.  Most of all, thank you for being dear friends that allow me to share thoughts closest to my heart.  God bless you!
